Pin of the Month - March 2022
In January, I shared that I'd officially become a trainer at Disney. During my interview for that role, I was asked what some of my goals are with the company. I, half-joking and half-serious, said, "I want a window on Main Street".
For those non-Disney folks out there, a "window on Main Street" is just about the highest honor one could get with the company. Walking down Main Street (Either in Walt Disney World of Disneyland) if you look up, you'll see very decorative painted windows looking like old-timey storefronts. And the store's name and/or what they're selling is related to the employee being honored. I know I'll never get one, but if there's one place to dream big and strive for greatness, well I'm certainly in it.
The pin below is a part of a whole series, but this is the only one I wanted to buy. Ub Iwerks was a Disney animator and inventor. He was chiefly responsible for the design of both Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. If you've seen "Steamboat Willy" or "The Skeleton Dance", you've surely seen Mr. Iwerk's work. He truly is a Disney legend and worthy of having his own window on Main Street.
